Every year on 5th September is celebrated as Teachers Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. 5th September is the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education, and was the well-known diplomat, scholar, President of India and above all a teacher.
When Dr. Radhakrishnan became the President of India in 1962, he was approached by some of his students and friends and requested him to allow them to celebrate 5th September, his “Birthday”. In reply, Dr. Radhakrishnan said, “Instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if 5th September is observed as Teachers’ Day”. The request showed Dr. Radhakrishnan’s love for the teaching profession. From then onwards, the day has been observed as Teachers’ Day in India.
So, on this auspicious occasion our children has organize a small tea party under the guidance of Captain and Senior children to honor the President of BCH Latri Nyma Dakpa Rinpoche and staff members of BCH on this special day. Party begin with the speech by our girls captain Yangchen Tsomo and Kunga Tsewang, by introducing the important of BCH and its staff members in their life and there speech end with lots of good wishes and pray for Rinpoche good health on behalf of all children. Being a very special day Children has performed a different culture program and they also organize a game (Chopping Onion) for staff members to make this special day more colorful. At the end of party, children present gift to all the staff members for our honor and party end with vote of thanks speech from Miss. Tsering Dickey student of class XII.
All the staff members would like to thank our children for organizing such a party to honor us on such auspicious day. The love and respect which they have shown to teachers give us more strength and energy to work more for the development of BCH and for the children of BCH. Using this opportunity we would like to express our gratitude to all our sponsors, foundations and supporters for their love and support towards BCH for such a long period of time in every situation. Without the love and support of them all all it won’t be possible to organize such event. So, once again thank you for everything.
